Using Difficulties as The Fuel for Awakening
SUNDAY NOVEMBER 15 | 9:30 AM -12:00 PM and 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM
For those of us who are serious about Awakening, these difficult and challenging times do not have to be obstacles to our peace of mind but can be used as fuel for our practice and actually aid our Awakening process.
Our True Nature – formless, boundless, non-conceptual, loving awareness – is the epitome of inclusivity non-judgement, and compassion. Its embodiment in everyday life is expressed by the essential message of all the wisdom traditions throughout history: “love your neighbor as yourself”.
If we learn to trust our innermost essential nature when things are difficult, then it becomes that much easier to do so when they are not. Seeing everything as the manifestation of the formless universal consciousness begins to gradually replace our old way of perceiving. Experiencing non-dual loving awareness as our true nature becomes more and more available at all times.
In this experiential Retreat we will engage our practice with the very elements of our contemporary life that are causing so much anxiety, depression, confusion, anger, and numbness in the world right now: the pandemic, racial unrest, the election, the political divisions, disinformation, natural disasters, and the climate to name a few.
When we fully “own” our emotions and reactivity as ours, it allows us to see the “other” with fresh eyes and an open heart. When we can open to and love our reactive emotions in the spaciousness of Awake Awareness, they begin to release their self-grasping and become free. When we can see others as pure expressions of universal consciousness rather than our own projections of them, we can embrace them with unconditionally loving Awake Awareness.
And so, rather than contributing to the anxiety and divisiveness of our world, instead we can make a positive contribution to the collective consciousness of humanity – the expansive radiance of open hearted Awake Awareness.
