Practicing Loving Kindness

Spend a day immersing yourself in the atmosphere of kindness and compassion. The contemplative practice of loving kindness gives us a simple way to gently tap into the natural capacity for kindness in our own hearts and to nourish ourselves with it. Kindness possesses a gentle power which dissolves our sense of isolation, and allows us to soften and open more fully to ourselves and our lives. – The energy of kindness and goodwill is naturally expansive. It gradually overflows embracing our life and everybody in it bringing a deep sense of tranquility, wholeness and connection.
This retreat will include alternating periods of guided meditation and contemplation together with brief teachings and the opportunity to share with others in the group. Experience how extended meditation practice takes you deeper. The approach to the day will be gentle and enjoyable.
This retreat is open to mindfulness meditators who have been practicing regularly for at least a year and who have some familiarity with the practice of loving kindness. It is ideally suited for those taking the weekly “Natural Open-heartedness An In-depth Journey in the Practice of Loving Kindness.” The day retreat provides an opportunity for the contemplations to affect us more deeply.
Please bring a water bottle and bag lunch (optional). There will be an hour break for lunch. Tea and snacks will be provided.
