One of the main results of mindfulness meditation is the gradual settling of the agitation, distraction, and confusion of our busy minds. But more importantly, it sets the stage for the natural dawning of insight – -spontaneous clear seeing of ourselves and our experience. Insight is the more important gift of meditation because this is what brings real inner freedom, lasting happiness, self-confidence, and appreciation for the richness of our experience. In this summer session we’ll build upon our mindfulness practice learning the insight meditation skills of awareness and investigation. And we’ll cultivate 7 innate factors of the mind that incline us to freedom.
Classes include instruction, talks, guided meditations, and plenty of time for questions and sharing personal experience. This Committed Level course is for experienced mindfulness meditators. It assumes you have established for at least the last year, a stable “daily” meditation practice as a foundation for your life. A daily practice means 30-45 minutes each day for 5-7 days each week. This course is appropriate for those who have completed at least 3 Foundations Level courses.
Registration includes free access to class recordings from each week. Participants are encouraged to use the recorded meditations to support a daily practice.
