Calm and Clear: Deepening Your Mindfulness Practice

For mindfulness meditation to bring the results we’re looking for, it’s important to be regular and steady, relaxed and attentive. When we meditate like that, we experience its amazing power to settle the body and mind in a balanced state of ease and clear awareness. Finding that balance brings a sense of well-being, clarity, and appreciation for the simplicity and freedom of the present moment. Our meditation time becomes a welcoming oasis, and when we return to the normal daily chaos of our life, we find ourselves refreshed, more relaxed and clear.

lake and mountainsThis course focuses specifically on developing the skill of ‘peaceful abiding’ presenting practical instructions for deepening your meditation experience and strengthening your personal practice. We’ll also explore some of the contemporary scientific research — and discuss how to extend mindfulness into daily life.

Classes include guided meditation, talks, exercises and discussion. The class format offers opportunity for personal guidance from an experienced teacher as well as for sharing experiences with others in the class.

As a support for your learning, every class is recorded and made available to you each week for streaming online or downloading. You can use the recorded meditations for your daily practice, re-listen to the talks, or catch up if you miss a week.  

We also offer a Mindfulness Mini-Retreat, Breath by Breath, on February 27th as a Companion to this course  because research has shown that people have more success in meditation when they integrate the learning from the weekly course with a dedicated session of guided practice. You can register for the mini-retreat separately at any time. But we give a special discount if you sign up for it the same time you register for the 8-week course.
